McMillan Manor is an urban infill neighborhood that creates new affordable housing in the St. Louis area. The three and four-bedroom units in duplex, triplex, and fourplex building configurations appeal to many families in the area. The design focused on contextually relating to the surrounding architecture in both detail and massing. Proximity to the street and abundance of windows creates natural surveillance to increase safety. The arrangement of homes encourages residents to engage, thereby creating a sense of community. Vehicular access and parking in the rear maintains proximity for residents exiting and entering while providing a level of safety among residents.
