Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Parking Garage
The Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Parking Garage is a 518 car, 7- level parking garage. It provides column-free parking within a two-bay single threaded helix design. The internal floors do not exceed a 6% slope to accommodate user comfort and the flat end sections meet the requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act. The internal traffic flow consists of two-way traffic for entry and exit bound traffic. Vehicular entry points have control gates and card readers to restrict usage and control access to the facility. The entrance and exits have higher light levels to provide overall visibility and safety.
To provide convenient access to the courthouses, stair towers are located at the north and south corners of the garage, while elevators are provided at the southwest corner of the garage. The stair towers have extensive glass to provide maximum passive security. Underground access to the courthouse is provided for service and judicial use.
The exterior features brick masonry with precast accent panels, and brick detailing reminiscent of other downtown buildings, as well as the new circuit and district courthouses.
