CMTA’s Lexington office is the first LEED® Platinum office building in Kentucky and the first LEED® Platinum building in Lexington.
LEED® Platinum projects are required to meet a minimum of 80 points across seven categories including sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, innovation, and regional priority credits.
CMTA’s building received 81 credits which included all points for the energy and atmosphere category. Energy saving features of the building include insulated concrete form
(ICF) walls, geothermal heating and cooling, daylighting, solar photovoltaics, and solar powered internally actuated diffusers. The building received a 2013 Environmental Award from the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Environmental Commission.
The USGBC will present CMTA with its Platinum plaque during a ceremony at 4:00 PM, July 9 at the Lexington office located at 2429 Members Way, Lexington .
