Allison has been with Sherman Carter Barnhart since 2007 and became an Associate Principal in 2020. She started working with the firm while in architecture school at the University of Kentucky. She graduated in 2008 with a Professional Degree in Architecture, is a registered architect, as well as a LEED, accredited professional. As a Kentucky native raised in a family of educators, it’s no surprise she is a project manager in our K-12 Education Studio, working on school projects throughout Kentucky. Some of her favorite projects include the residence halls at the University of Kentucky, McCracken County High School in Paducah, and The Kentucky United Methodist Home for Children in Nicholasville. She is currently working on a new Football Stadium and new Greenhouse for her alma mater, LaRue County High School in Hodgenville, Kentucky. Going back to the community she grew up in and being able to contribute through design has been incredibly rewarding for her.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and their two young children, especially to the beach, and cheering on UK (Go Cats!). When she’s not caring for her children, she occasionally finds time to play tennis, a sport she enjoyed growing up. She is a member of the Junior League of Lexington, where she volunteers by serving dinner at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge and is a member of First United Methodist Church in Lexington.
