Project Details

The Impact Center for Leadership & Innovation is designed to be a cutting-edge teaching and learning center for middle and high school-aged students, as well as a community and school district resource. Committed to providing students with the resources and support they need to achieve academic success with career pathways and college preparedness, the Impact Center for Leadership & Innovation offers a robust traditional curriculum coupled with an advanced college and career center with dynamic and industry-led pathways. As a community and district resource the Academy offers flexible labs and makerspaces for all students throughout the district, as well as the community.

One of the unique features of the Center is the Teaching Laboratory, which serves as a professional development hub for Warren County educators. Here, instructors have access to the latest teaching techniques, technologies, and research, allowing them to continually improve their skills and deliver high-quality instruction to our students.

In addition to offering a rigorous and challenging curriculum for all students, the Academy is dedicated to helping students prepare for college and career readiness. With a range of programs and activities that expose students to various career paths, internships, and mentoring opportunities with industry professionals, the Innovation Academy sets a new standard of education at the middle and high school levels.

The Impact Center for Leadership & Innovation is committed to expanding opportunities for all students, including those who may be traditionally underserved or underrepresented in the STEM fields. Warren County believes that every student deserves access to high-quality education and resources, and the Impact Center for Leadership & Innovation is focused on fulfilling that mission.

The Center will offer a curriculum that challenges the best and brightest students while providing additional support for those who may need it. Recognizing the national teacher shortage, the school is designed to support the need for a limited number of instructors, allowing for personalized attention and individualized instruction. Makerspaces and flexible labs for classrooms enable students to explore their interests and passions through hands-on projects and experiential learning.

The Center also features an Information Technology suite with numerous stations and technology resources. The IT Academy is focused on preparing today’s and tomorrow’s students, recognizing the critical importance of technology-enriched spaces and opportunities. By investing in the latest technologies and tools, Warren County aims to equip its students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The exterior is designed with a contemporary and leading-edge appearance. Sleek metal panels make up the majority of the building’s façade, creating a modern and visually striking appearance. The panels are chosen for their durability, energy efficiency, and low-maintenance qualities. In addition to the metal panels, we prioritize extensive daylighting throughout the building’s design. Large windows and glass walls allow natural light to flood the interior spaces, providing a bright and inviting learning environment, and creating a positive effect on student learning and well-being.

The use of metal panels, daylighting, geothermal HVAC, ICF construction, and a 50kw solar source, coupled with a compact-in-size floor plan continues the district-wide energy-reducing design strategies to achieve zero energy emerging status.

Overall, the Impact Center for Leadership & Innovation reflects both Warren County Public Schools and Sherman Carter Barnhart’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and student-centered learning. The cutting-edge appearance, combined with a state-of-the-art facility, will inspire and engage students to learn and grow in exciting and meaningful ways.
