Carmen Kopitzke recently graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, with a degree in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Urban Planning. Drawn to design and its ability to positively shape the places where people live, work, and gather, Carmen originally planned to study architecture. After being inspired by several influential professors, she shifted her focus to landscape architecture and quickly found it to be the perfect fit, combining her love of design, gardening, and the outdoors.
Originally from southern Indiana, Carmen has enjoyed exploring Kentucky since moving to Lexington. Coming from a household of dedicated Indiana Hoosier fans, life in Wildcat country has been an adjustment, but she admits she is slowly converting. Outside of work, Carmen enjoys reading, arts and crafts, yoga and pilates, and spending time with her two cats, Toast and Marshmallow.
